1. Packaging.

Prevent contact with rain, sunlight, moist air and impurities, a chemical reaction;

Reduce collisions suffered during transport, vibration, friction and extrusion, to ensure the safe transport;

Prevent cargo spill, volatile, and in contact with incompatible goods caused by the accident;

Ease of handling, transportation and storage.

2. Packing group

All except the first 1,2,6.2 and dangerous goods other than Class 7, depending on their degree of danger, the transport packaging for three levels:

Packing Group I: for built-in high-risk cargo;

Packing Group II: for built-moderate risk cargo;

Packing Group III: for low hazard contents of the cargo. 

3. General packaging requirements for adaptation;

Packaging should have a certain strength, able to withstand the general risks waterway transport;

Packing seal should be consistent with the nature of the dangerous goods loaded;

Should be adequate cushion between the inner and outer packaging;

Packaging should be able to withstand the temperature and humidity changes within a certain range;

Packaging weight, size and type, should be easy handling, transport and storage (according to "IMDG Code" stipulates that the maximum volume of the pack of 450 liters, the maximum net weight of 400kg)

4. Marks and logos of the package

Each package containing dangerous goods, should be durably marked to display its contents in the proper shipping name, if there is a corresponding UN number, it should also be marked.

All packages containing dangerous goods, durable signs should display their contents of dangerous goods characteristics. Logo displayed on the package, according to "IMDG Code" requirement, soaked in sea water for three months, not falling, pattern text still legible.

Size mark: mark on the package of not less than 100X100mm

Containers and portable tanks cabinet signs of not less than 250X250mm

Use Symbol: box: at both ends; barrel: In the lid or barrel body; Container: box located four sides, Deputy flag should normally be displayed in the lower left of the main sign.

5. Package Type designation code and markup

Packaging content marker

(1) The United Nations packaging symbol;

(2) the type of packaging codes;

(3) packaging (X for I, II, III packing group; Y for Class II, III packaging; Z for packing group III) and the relative density of containing liquid (solid kg represents the maximum total amount);

(4) test pressure used to 10Kpa accurate representation of the hydraulic test pressure within the package by the (solid with "S");

(5) Packaging Manufacturing / or repair of the last two digits of the year (1H and 3H shall be marked with the month);

(6) Packing / or cultivation of ratifications (with internationally accepted vehicle identification code);

(7) the manufacturer / repair shop or authorized to use the code of codes.

(8) if restored, there should be "R", where applicable, as well as "L".
